Manual Therapy

Physical Therapist using manual therapy to treat patient's back

Manual therapy is specialized "hands on" treatment that may include joint mobilization for the spine (or for the shoulder, hip, foot/ankle, etc.), along with deep tissue massage and/or myofascial release. Joint mobilizations help to stretch the joint capsule, to decrease pain, and improve joint range of motion and function. This may go without saying, but telehealth is the only service we offer that doesn't include manual therapy. However, to accommodate patients during COVID-19 a combination of treatment modalities will likely be used.

Recent research advocates the use of manual physical therapy for the best therapeutic outcomes, along with a customized exercise program to help you maintain benefits gained during therapy.
